One of the Mindfulness apps that is on the Apple Watch alone is the Breathe app. It vibrates on your wrist with the word ā€œBreatheā€ and you click start, and it tells you to be still, and then inhale while the watch vibrates, and exhale when it’s still. You can set it for 1-5 minutes (I have it set just for 1 minute), and honestly it has been a great reminder to be present for me. It happens at randomĀ times throughout the day – it sends me about 5 notifications daily to breathe. I don’t do it all of the time, but if I’m sitting there, I usually do, and it subtly brings me to that present moment in time, forces me to focus on my breath, even if it’s just for one minute. I have been doing this for the past couple months (I just got an Apple watch mid-September), and it has been really cool!

A massive component of mindfulness is focusing on breath. It’s also a part of yoga and other meditations, and it’s something I haveĀ never been good at. I lose focus easily, or roll my eyes at it, but through this, the fact that it’s only one minutes of timed breathing (roughly equating 7 breaths), I know I can do it, and sometimes it is really grounding or focusing.
